Despite Disneyland Paris not being given a lot of love during the D23‘s Park Panel, we still received some bits of information to snack on. Disney unveiled yesterday new concept arts of the Spider-Man suite from the rethemed Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
As you can see from the concept art, Disney commissioned a Marvel artist to create art pieces for the rooms. I’m looking forward to what other super heroes will be featured in the hotel on top of the Spider-Man suite. Are there any Thor fans out there? (Disney, if you’re reading this …)
If you’ve missed the info of January 2019, the retheming of the hotel will make you feel as if you’re in the middle of New York, reminiscing of a luxury and contemporary Manhattan hotel. The interior design will be sleek and cosmopolitan in the style of Tony Stark and the Avengers Headquarters and will showcase the “Art of Marvel” in a way that reinvents the idea of an art hotel.
Bold art pieces on display will showcase the diverse art from the Marvel universe, from comic art, film, design, sculpture to the costume of our favourite super heroes. Pieces will include comic book covers, posters, concept art from films, storyboards, production design, props, original sketches, media, and more!
The hotel will feature 476 standard rooms, 65 executive rooms, and eight standard suites. The rooms’ interiors will reflect the urban sophistication of Tony Stark’s tastes, with a colour palette that calls back to his Iron Man suit. The hotel’s one-of-a-kind suites will be themed around Marvel Super Heroes and New York City. For these suites, a Marvel artist will be commissioned to create pieces for the rooms featuring the heroes.
The updated hotel will reopen in the summer of 2020, probably right on time for another season of Marvel Summer of Super Heroes, but certainly open before the Avengers Campus opening in the Walt Disney Studios Park in 2021.
